I love crackle, slow-cooked pork belly, BBQ pork ribs, Char Sui Pork, pork buns, pork dumplings.

I just love PORK!

This recipe includes some “special” ingredients that might surprise you. We use Coka Cola as it tenderizes the meat and the flavor really compliments the BBQ style of the pork.

Ingredients For Making Texan Style Pulled Pork Burgers:

  • 2 kg Pork Shoulder
  • 1 onion finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 Tbsp cumin
  • 1 Tbsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1 cup coke
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce

How To Make Texan Pulled Pork Burgers

  1. Combine all the sauce ingredients and place in the slow cooker.
  2. Add the pork to the slow cooker, spoon the sauce over the pork to marinade.
  3. Cook with the lid on for 8-10 hours on low.
  4. Remove the pork from the cooker, using two forks shred the meat.
  5. Pour the sauce into a saucepan and boil on high until sufficiently thickened.
  6. Add the pulled pork to the sauce and gently combine.
  7. Serve

If you don’t have a slow cooker you can get the same result in an oven by baking the pork at 125C/260F in a baking tray covered in foil.
