These healthy Pork & Fennel Burgers are perfect for dinner or to take to a BBQ. They are simple to make and very yummy!

Included in the recipe are fennel, carrot, apple, and onion. Before you’re turned off by all the grating of vegetables let me tell you a secret. It takes just a moment to drop the fruit and vegetable into the food processor or Thermomix.

This Pork & Fennel Burgers recipe makes 4 servings.

We recommend making these Pork Burgers fresh. The cooked patties can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen up to 3 months.

Pork & Fennel Burgers Ingredients

  • 1 kilogram of Ground Pork
  • 200 grams of Onion, grated
  • 200 grams of Fennel, thinly sliced
  • 150 grams of Green Apple, grated
  • 150 grams of Carrot, grated
  • 1 Red Chili, finely chopped
  • 6 cloves of Garlic, crushed
  • 2 teaspoons of Ground Fennel Seed
  • 50 grams of Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon of Salt
  • 2 tablespoons of Olive Oil
  • 4 Brioche Burger Buns
  • Apple Coleslaw Ingredients
  • 1/4 of a Cabbage, shredded
  • 1 small Red Onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 Green Apple, grated
  • 1 bunch Cilantro, torn
  • 1/3 cup Kewpie Mayonnaise
  • Smoky BBQ Sauce, to serve

How to make Pork & Fennel Burgers
  1. In a large bowl, add the pork, onion, fennel, apple, carrot, chili, garlic, ground fennel, egg, and salt. Mix well.
  2. Shape into 4 burger patties.
  3. Place a large nonstick frying pan over high heat, add the oil. Fry the burgers for 4-6 minutes on each side, until cooked through.
  4. For the Apple Slaw; Place the cabbage, onion, apple, and cilantro into a large bowl, mix well.
  5. Add the mayonnaise and mix well.
  6. To assemble the burgers; add some of the apple slaw to the bottom half of the bun, top with a burger and BBQ sauce, then add the top of the bun.
  7. Serve and enjoy!
