Coffs Harbour locals and visitors to the area will now be able to enjoy a little more Attitude from Latitude 30 in the form of a new food venture. Attitude Burgers is the latest food offering for hungry surfers, visitors and passer bys on the busy North wall promenade.
Located downstairs from Latitude 30 it has a completely different feel, perhaps akin to that of a younger sibling to the more sophisticated bar and restaurant.

It’s funky, edgy, has cold beer on tap and let’s face it… it has a style and… an attitude which sets it apart from a regular hamburger joints straight away.
The walls are filled with positive affirmations and thoughts, staff are friendly, and the service is fast. There is plenty of seating both inside and out.
If you choose to be seated inside you may be lucky enough to nab a cosy corner with a lounge, ottomans and low table like we did. It would be very easy to sink into one of the lounges, and settle in for the afternoon.
But I am here to sample a burger or two so I let my eyes wander over the blackboard menu and try to narrow down the selection a little. There are so many delicious choices and unique flavour combinations, but after much consideration we manage to choose just three.
I decide on the “Little Bo Peep” burger, so named because it’s made from prime New England Lamb, perhaps one of the sheep that little Bo Peep lost? The lamb burger is char grilled with Moroccan spices and served with Mediterranean vegetables, lettuce and tzatziki. We opted to have all the burgers served on Turkish bread rolls.
My burger was amazingly moist and flavoursome, the grilled zucchini and eggplant were both perfectly cooked and great accompaniments to the lamb and yoghurt.
Mr GG ordered a “Curly Tail” burger, made with pork leg mince and flavoured with sage and apple chutney. It was served with lettuce, tomato and fried onion. Once again the burger was cooked perfectly with the meat moist and melting in the mouth. I had been expecting a chutney with a bit of spice but this was one was merely an apple sauce. Naturally apple sauce and pork goes together nicely but I would have liked a little more flavour. Still it was a burger in a class of its own. Oh and the bread was squishy and just perfect for sopping up the juices and dressing.
The little ones were sharing an “Asalt & Battery” burger, which consisted of a generous size piece of beer battered fish fillet, mayonnaise, gherkin, tomato and lettuce. When the burger arrived with plenty of salad and sauce I noticed the two oversized gherkins. They were sliced on the diagonal and huge! They managed to cover the whole burger which would have been ideal. However I didn’t think the kids would fancy the gherkins so I happily ate both. The gherkins appeared to have been home pickled as they were sliced slightly thicker and benefited from the addition of turmeric or curry spicies. It is always nice when someone takes the time to add a bit of extra love into regular foods.
I have made a mental note to try and prepare some of these gherkins myself, if my cucumbers ever grow!
Speaking of love, the beer batter was so light and crisp, both hubby and I were fishing it out of the kids burgers greedily… (hahaha pun intended hehe) much too little Miss ’s horror!
It is also nice to see that our gluten intolerant friends have been considered in the menu. Diners have a choice of three different bread types for all burgers, Turkish bread roll, seeded hamburger rolls or a gluten free roll.
I had a skinny cappuccino which was fantastic, a good thing to know if I am ever in need of a quick coffee fix after a walk along the breakwall.
Along with the burgers we ordered a side of seasoned fries. Again they were the most gorgeous combination of light, crisp, salty deliciousness on the outside with a soft, squishy inside. They came with a serve of garlic aioli and there was tomato sauce in a cute little tomato on each table.
All meals and drinks are served in recycled cardboard containers for convenience. Diners can choose to eat in or take away.
The North wall promenade is a busy place for families, couples, visitors, surfers and beach goers, it’s nice to have another tasty food option so we can spend a little more time enjoying this picturesque location.
